Признаки пороговые, п. п. гипотеза — предполагается, что определенные полигенные признаки (см. Признаки количественные) проявляются только при аддитивном (суммарном) действии соответствующих аллелей и при достижении пороговой величины их экспрессии. Гипотеза часто используется для объяснения таких явлений, когда признак, имеющий полигенную природу, проявляется как качественный, т. е. по принципу «есть-нет», напр. чувствительность или устойчивость к определенным болезням.
